The Spiral. A simple, ancient image featured in all things from mathematics, to art, to nature (both of this world and beyond.) What intrigues me about the spiral is its linear sense of eternity. No matter how far one travels towards the within, there is no true bottom, and certainly no end. Asides that, it has metaphorical links with sanity, perhaps suggesting that the mind accelerates in decline.
