vietnam napalm child
This is the image which is said to sum up the Vietnam War. The true fear on the children's faces really sticks in my mind and is a photo which i think can have a huge impact on people's thoughts and ideas if studied closely...

Often images like this are powerful because they capture a moment that demands a dramatic emotional response but our own imagination creates a future for those captured. I was never sure whether these children had died or not following the American atrocities, the little girl in the centre at least did not. She is founder of a foudnation to help child victims of war (http://www.kimfoundation.com/modules/contentpage/index.php?file=intro.htm) http://www.kimfoundation.com/modules/contentpage/index.php?file=intro.htm, kind of mixes hope with the horror of the original event

Re: vietnam napalm child
Another image that someone has beaten me to uploading. An absolutely horrific image from an utterly pointless war. Is this what America really meant when they said 'better dead than red'?. The Americans said that communism was the enemy yet this image makes that hard to believe when it was capitalist America who droped napalm and agent orange on the innocent Vietnamese

This image is shown so often but it never ceases to shock. I think it will be a long long time before we are desensitized to this.
